I can’t believe we’re well into the month of February! This is one of my favorite months, my husband and I were married in the month of February. We had our reception outdoors and there was a 70% chance of rain, sure we had a plan B but we really hoped plan A would work out. I said a prayer the night before our wedding and asked God to bring terrible weather if my he and I were not meant to be and I would in turn have the strength and faith to walk away. Of course I was terrified to ask this the day before my wedding but I had felt like we had worked hard to get here and wanted to be sure I was marrying the man God had always planned for me to spend the rest of my life with and the same for him. I awoke to a 73 degree, sunny day and KNEW God had heard me and even more than that, He had given us His blessing.
9 years later I am more in love with my husband than I was on our wedding day, not because it’s been sunshine and rainbows but because he has loved me through the hardest of times.
A few years ago I stopped wearing jewelry altogether with the exception of my wedding ring, when my skin had a terrible reaction to a metal bracelet. I didn’t do any research on metals to see what I was possibly allergic to, because I was in the thick of raising small children and just felt like I could just go without. Years have passed and there have been significant life events that have changed the direction of my life that I want to remember.
Let’s talk James Avery for a bit. If you’re not familiar with James Avery they are a family owned company with beautifully crafted jewelry. What started as a brick and mortar business has now grown to many storefronts across Texas. What I love most about James Avery is the many personalized selections with their individual charms, rings, bracelets and necklaces. They have a huge selection of charms that can be added to a bracelet to tell a story of what you value and who you are. My mother in law has a charm bracelet full of charms from James Avery that signify each of her children, their wives and her grandchildren, it’s a sweet way to carry us all with her.
I fell in love with two rings James Avery just released, their Starry Night Ring and the Festival Butterfly Ring.
The night sky has held such a special place in my heart since my battle with depression and anxiety especially the moon. The moon surrounded by so much darkness always living somewhat in the shadows, yet still shines so brightly illuminating light onto the earth. The detail on the band is a work of art with several three dimensional stars all around.
The Festival Butterfly Ring is a tribute to a beautiful story I read in one of our school books. A Lesson of Faith in the Parables of Nature book by Margaret Gatty is so profoundly spiritual connecting nature and the challenges we can have with God. It is also a beautiful symbol of the changes God has allowed me to go through and come out of even stronger. The dark diamonds on the band add a beautiful detail and delicate, bohemian touch.
